Israel used laser weapons during his ongoing war to distract “values” of air strikes, including the drones, the Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday in a statement. This is the first time that the country recognizes the use of technologies for directed energy in the battlefield.

The ministry did not provide any details about when the systems were tested or data to be rapped. Defense Minister Israel Katz praised the futuristic weapon and said that his assumption was ready to “change the rules of the game in the region”.
The announcement indicates that Israel could soon pull in front of other countries in the race for laser weapons. The nations have followed the technology for decades, but the efforts to scale lasers have been complicated by considerable technical difficulties.
