Reform UK is the first political party in Great Britain that accepts Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency donations, announced Nigel Farage during a top -class appearance at Bitcoin Conference in Las Vegas.
Farage informed the audience that reform UK had updated its website to accept crypto donations from legitimate British donors and to mark an “innovative” step for British politics. “My message to the British public and especially young people is helping us to help them really bring our country into the 21st century,” he said. “Let us see that crypto and digital assets stay here.”
The former leader of the Ukip and Brexit party spoke to reveal the planned cryptoassets and the digital financial law of his party. This includes the promise of reducing the capital gains tax on cryptoassets from 24% to 10%. He also suggested creating a Bitcoin Digital Reserve in the Bank of England and promised the cryptocurrency users by illegal for banks to “Debank” who act or prevent crypto.
Farage said the conference -where he was presented as a “British presidential candidate” -that he wanted to make Britain a “crypto power plant”. He provided the ambitions of his party with what he described as the inactivity of both the current Labor government and the previous conservative administration.
“When he was a short prime minister, Rishi Sunak gave a speech about Crypto and how London used to be a global financial center. A speech and nothing else,” said Farage. “Work? Well, we have 25 men and women in the cabinet and not a single one of them worked in private business.”
The reform UK website has been updated on Thursday to record a cryptocurrency donation, whereby a disclaimer determines that all contributions must correspond to the rules for the election commission – which anonymous donations are not permitted.
A party spokesman confirmed the move and said further details about how the processing of cryptocurrency donations would be published on Friday.
The announcement of Farages signals a significant change in political donation and politics in Great Britain, whereby reform UK positions itself as the most crypto-friendly political force in the country. It also happens that the global interest in blockchain-based financing continues to grow, as both investors and the regulatory uncertainty of the governments are enthusiastic.
In contrast to traditional British political parties, which are structured as member organizations, reform UK as a private company Registration Reform 2025 LTD is a non-profit company that is jointly controlled by Farage and Director Zia Yusuf. This structure gives Farage, which are in the direction and financing of the party.
With surveys that increasing support for Farage’s party in some constituencies and a general choice that is expected within the next 18 months, the step could mark the beginning of the cryptocurrency that plays a more important role in British political discourse.
